Carlyle Gibbs: A Joint Exhibition in Wearable Art Jewelry
PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 17, 2011 – (Delray Beach, FL, Aug. 17, 2011)– The Butterfield Garage Art Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida will feature Carlyle Gibbs Wearable Art Jewelry and Paintings in their esteemed ‘First Friday’ Exhibition this September. The collaboration of nationally recognized artists, Kathryn Carlyle and Cheryl Gibbs, includes one-of-a-kind jewelry designs and paintings. The interactive exhibition will showcase every Friday evening from 5 – 9 p.m., from Sept. 2 – Sept. 30, 2011.
Though the collaborative artists practice in different media – metal fabrication, painting and collage – their individual creations mirror a shared inspiration of natural elements, metaphysical wonder and universal awareness. The Carlyle Gibbs ‘First Friday’ Exhibition will offer St. Augustine locals the chance to interact with the artists of Carlyle Gibbs directly. This signature element of the Butterfield Garage ‘First Friday’ Exhibition has proven to enhance the understanding of artwork on exhibit to attending guests, as well as providing artists with the opportunity for additional exposure and a higher level of personalization with their clients.
Kathryn Carlyle and Cheryl Gibbs will be speaking directly to attending guests about their driving inspirations, motivations, challenges and artistic techniques behind their personal creations. Here, each artist is given the rare opportunity to elaborate upon their work, and to answer inquiries pertaining to the exquisitely created, one-of-a-kind wearable art jewelry pieces which they have designed and created.
With the use of woven metallics, texturing techniques and delicate arrangements of natural stones, the Carlyle Gibbs collaboration succeeds in telling tales of nature and spiritual connection through unique approaches and methods of metal fabrication. Through the integration of natural elements, along with a corresponding implementation of varying light and luminescence, each piece stands a significant piece of the story which it represents.
The Butterfield Garage Art Gallery in St. Augustine, FL has been a proud home to the ‘First Friday’ Exhibition for over a decade. Having introduced the dynamic of direct dialogue between artist and attendees as the founding philosophy of ‘First Friday’ Exhibitions, the Butterfield Garage is now among the most recognized and accredited art galleries in Florida. ‘First Friday’ Exhibitions at Butterfield Garage have established themselves as a commodity in cultural influence and community interaction in the St. Augustine area.
